Bad Company, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Cyndi Lauper, OutKast, Soundgarden, and the White Stripes will be inducted in the performer category. Salt-N-Pepa and Warren Zevon will receive Musical Influence Awards, while Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins, and Carol Kaye will be honored with Musical Excellence Awards, and Lenny Waronker will receive the prestigious Ahmet Ertegun Award. “Each of these inductees created their own sound and attitude that had a profound impact on culture and helped to change the course of Rock & Roll forever,” said John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. “Their music gave a voice to generations and influenced countless artists that followed in their footsteps.”

The induction ceremony is scheduled to take place on November 8 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, and will be streamed live on Disney+, with an edited version airing on ABC at a later date. Notable snubs from this year’s induction class include Phish – who won the recent fan vote – Joy Division/New Order, Oasis, and Mariah Carey. (Rolling Stone)
