In a new interview published by the Los Angeles Times on Monday (November 11), Sting shared his thoughts about how Diddy’s sex trafficking allegations affects how he feels about the Police tune, “Every Breath You Take.” Diddy famously sampled the 1983 Billboard No. 1 hit in his and Faith Evans’ 1997 song, “I’ll Be Missing You,” but the recent charges against the disgraced music mogul doesn’t change how Sting feels about the original version. “I mean, I don’t know what went on [with Diddy],” said the 73-year-old musician. “But it doesn’t taint the song at all for me. It keeps them current. Songs are living organisms — you have to keep breathing life into them or giving them new bedfellows.” (People)
